Good to know

Our home offers a freshly remodeled open plan layout with an entire wall of disappearing pocket doors that bring the outdoor Lanai into the living room. The living , kitchen and master bedroom areas face the lanai, pool and water with abundant natural light that begs you to get out and enjoy the day. The kitchen boasts stainless appliances, granite tops, huge counter/bar and all the amenities you will need for the gourmet cook in your family. The living and dining rooms have been freshly remodeled with new furniture and a 60 inch Smart TV. The huge master suite features a king bed, sitting area, office desk and chair, 55 inch Smart TV, custom walk in shower and direct access to the Lanai and pool. The other 2 bedrooms also have new Smart TV's. One with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins that can be set up to make a king bed. All the bedrooms have room darkening curtains if you need to catch up on sleep :) There is also a new queen sleeper sofa to enable you to accommodate multiple families. You will enjoy the huge refurbished dock that spans the entire width of the lot. This gives you plenty of room for your boat and to embark upon your kayak adventures. The Villa comes equipped with 5 kayaks for those sunrise and sunset kayak excursions down to the Caloosahatchee River. 3 of the kayaks are fishing models, if you wish to try your luck at the catch of the day! You will see plenty of fish while relaxing on lounge chairs right at your dock. You may see the fish jumping all day but especially at dawn and dusk...everything from bait fish, shrimp, sea bass and snapper to dolphins! Pull up some of the chairs and enjoy a relaxing sunset fish before you splash into the heated pool or relax in the hot tub. If you do bring a boat or rent a local one ( boat rental is just 1/2 mile away) you are a short , direct, ( no bridges ) 3 minute ride to the Caloosahatchee River and from there you can enjoy a short ride to the Gulf and the beaches and restaurants of Ft Myers, Sanibel, Captiva, Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa and much more! We have also provided 2 youth and 2 adult SUP's( Stand Up Paddle boards ) which could double as surf ( long ) boards at the beach and 7 bikes so that you can explore the beautiful Palaco Grande neighborhood together. Additionally we have provided a 3 bike carrier that you can attach to your vehicle to transport the bikes to other attractions like Ft Myers Beach . We highly recommend exploring Sanibel , Captiva and the "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge by bike. (/refuge/JN_Ding_Darling/plan_your_visit/hours.html) Be sure to treat the kids..or kids at heart ..to a fantabulous ice cream at Schnapper's Hots on Sanibel ! schnappershots dot com Please take the provided bike locks so that you can secure them when you explore by foot! Whether you start your day with a beautiful walk or bike ride along the river or a relaxing kayak on the canals to the river you will be treated to the gorgeous South West Florida sunshine and scenery! Then you can spend the rest of your day relaxing by the pool or exploring all that South West Florida ( SWFL) has to offer, from exciting air boat rides in the everglades to snorkeling with the Manatees at Crystal River. You may end your day enjoying a sunset kayak and/or dinner in the Lanai with a beautiful sunset or moonlight soak in the heated pool and hot tub...or visit one of the many nearby seafood restaurants (we love to order seafood out at Fins Seafood Restaurant and Dive Bar which is just a few blocks away and enjoy it in the Lanai by the pool (great fresh seafood!) . Shopping is just over a mile away with a Publix ( groceries) and a Wal Mart among others. The little Cuban restaurant/bakery ( Azucar ) at the corner of Palaco and Del Prado has GREAT pastries. Azucar-Restaurant-Bakery-Inc-104907332885763/ Fins Restaurant and Dive ( also just a couple of blocks away )bar has good seafood and a great atmosphere ..plus it often has live music...we usually eat there at least once and also will take out to eat by the pool. finsdivebar dot com If you like Mexican food, Monarca"s Authentic Mexican Bar and Grill has award winning Mexican food and has tables overlooking a canal. The food is very good and it has a nice atmosphere. 1604 SE 46th St, Cape Coral, FL 33904 http://monarcasrestaurants dot com/ If you like to cook and like seafood you should check out Merricks...awesome fresh seafood...we buy a smorgasbord of seafood and then have a cook up at home....only downside is it all looks so great we always buy too much! 1229 SE 47th Terrace Suite A, Cape Coral, FL 33904 The downtown area is home to numerous breweries, bars etc etc and some nice low key shopping. There is usually a farmer's market on Saturday mornings from 9 or 10 until 2pm with locally produced crafts and eats. It is located a couple of blocks off Cape Coral parkway in the entertainment district. SE 47th Terrace &, SE 10th Pl, Cape Coral, FL 33904 /maps/place/Cape+Coral+Farmers+Market/@26.5683754,-81.9512765,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xd192e5f07e648b7e!8m2!3d26.5643067!4d-81.952521 If you like quirky artwork then take a 30 minute trip to Pine Island and Matlacha ( Mat la shay ) where you will find dozens of small crafty/hippie art shops and a few bars. There is lots of nice shopping and antiqueing on Sanibel also. There are far too many cool towns and beaches to visit with in a hour or so in each direction, so I will not try to list them all but if you take a coastal drive/explore in either direction you will find some beautiful beaches, bars and towns around the corner. Ina little over an hour to the south you can also go on airboat rides in the Everglades and spot wildlife including some monster alligators. However you spend your days and nights we hope you enjoy our home and SWFL as much as our family does! Come and relax! Our home is furnished with everything you will need to make your vacation plans easy...linens, towels, beach towels, laundry soap, bath soaps, kitchen supplies, pool toys, fishing poles and tackle box, coolers , and beach umbrellas ! So just pack a bag ( and extra swimsuits) and come and enjoy SWFL! See you at the beach! This board will not allow me to include links to other places, but, if you use the info I have included to search on a very popular search engine ( that starts with G and ends with E ) you should be able to find the links and preview the sites :)))

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Home is situated in the beautiful Palaco Grande neighborhood which is very quiet and safe but just blocks to entertainment and restaurants. We love to order dinner from Fins Restaurant and take it back to eat in the Lanai by the pool. Biking the neighborhood is always fun also but my personal favorite is a sunset kayak on the canals and river. Love going to Mitchells Seafood and buying a variety of fresh seafood and taking it home to cook! Exploring Sanibel and Captiva and Ding Darling Reserve by bike is a blast...best ice cream shop in the world on Sanibel!!!
